About the electricity calculator

The calculator multiplies your PC's power draw by the hours you keep it running, converts that to kilowatt-hours, and multiplies by your country's average electricity rate. Defaults are sourced from public household electricity statistics (US EIA, Eurostat, and equivalent national agencies).

Beyond the raw bill, running a computer 24/7 generates constant heat, stresses fans and power supplies, and shortens hardware lifespan. MinecraftAFK runs your account on cloud infrastructure instead, so your PC can stay off.

The comparison assumes you'd otherwise leave your PC running the full 24 hours a day to stay AFK, and weighs that against MinecraftAFK's Tier 1 plan billed yearly. If you only AFK part of the day, scale the daily figure down to match - and remember the cloud client also frees up your computer to be used, or switched off, the rest of the time.

Currency conversions are approximate. Local rates vary by provider, time-of-use tariffs, and consumption tier. Use your own electricity bill for the most accurate figure.
