Using proxies
Best practices for using proxies with MinecraftAFK: which type to buy, how to assign them per account, and how to spread accounts across multiple IPs.
Proxies give your accounts extra IPs so you can join servers with per-IP account limits. Each proxy is one additional IP - assign them only to the accounts that need a different identity.
Recommendations
- Protocol: SOCKS5.
- Type: private datacenter proxies.
- Avoid: HTTP proxies, free public proxies - they're often unstable and easy to detect.
Workflow
- Buy SOCKS5 proxies from a reputable provider.
- Add them on the Proxies page. See Add your proxies.
- Open Accounts and click the 🛜 button on the account you want to assign a proxy to.
- Pick the proxy and save.
- Connect that account to your target server.
Example
If a server allows 3 accounts per IP and you want to run 6, assign a proxy to 3 of them. The first 3 use your default IP; the second 3 use the proxy's IP - six accounts, no IP conflict.
Servers with extra checks
Some servers (e.g. Minehut) require completing a CAPTCHA from the proxy IP before assigning it permanently. See How to play on Minehut and How to play on servers with additional verification checks.
