Multiple accounts log in as one

When two accounts end up signed in as the same identity, it's almost always because the "Log in using a different email" option in Microsoft's authentication window was skipped during one of the logins.

Primary fix

1. Open settings (bottom right corner of the client).
2. Click Clear accounts.
3. Re-add each account.
4. When Microsoft prompts you, always pick "Log in using a different email".

That should resolve the conflict.

If that doesn't work

There may be cached Microsoft authentication data left behind:

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
2. Type %appdata% and confirm.
3. Open the .minecraft folder.
4. Delete the npm-cache folder.
5. Repeat the Clear accounts + re-add steps from above.
